Voice Solutions - VoIP Telephone Systems

What is Voice Over IP?

Traditional Office telephone systems run over B.T. cabling. With many offices now having CAT-5 or 6 wired networks carrying computer information, it causes no loss of service or interference in transmitting call data over the same “wires”.

Voice Over IP (VOIP) simply put, means routing telephone calls over Computer Data Networks and Internet connections.

Excellence IT can offer huge call savings to companies willing to route external phone calls over Internet rather than traditional BT ISDN or PSTN phone lines. In addition you have the option to route your incoming calls via the Internet meaning you can do away with expensive ISDN line rental and all your existing numbers remain exactly as they are. Unlimited U.K. landline and 0845 numbers can cost £12 per month!

Do I have to replace my existing non VOIP Telephone System to use VOIP?

No. We can install a small device that will sit between your traditional Office PBX System and your ISDN or PSTN lines to route your calls over the Internet so there is no need to make a huge financial commitment by changing your existing phone system or handsets.

What features and benefits do I get?

Depending on which system is right for your size of organisation these are some of the benefits that come as standard with our I.P. Telephone Systems:-

  • Conforms to SIP standard

  • Voicemail to Email

Is it secure?

Our Epygi Quadro systems come with a built in Firewall. All incoming VOIP (SIP) traffic originating from the Internet is blocked by default. For incoming internet calls to be routed there has to be a matching call route defined on the system. Therefore it is not possible for the system to be compromised.

Does it work on any Company Data Network ?

No. Your existing Network Hardware will need to be checked to ensure it can prioritise voice data travelling over it. This is commonly known as QoS.
